The Gottman Method for Working with Couples:
Integrating its key elements into your practice
Connie Feutz, M.A., LMHC, is a Senior Clinician - and one of six Master Teachers - for the Gottman Institute in Seattle, WA. A contributing author to The Marriage Clinic Casebook, Connie has offered clinical consultation to clinicians in four different countries. With over 24 years of clinical experience, Connie specializes in working with couples in high distress. John Gottman, PhD has called her “an extraordinarily gifted couples’ therapist.” Equally important in her style of therapy is the training she has received from Sue Johnson, PhD in Emotionally Focused Therapy. Connie resides and works in Bellingham Washington.
In this lecture, Connie will give an overview of the Gottman Method (GM), from its conceptual framework to its practical aspects. Drawing from John Gottman’s 34 years of research on marriages, Connie will highlight which aspects of the GM are most beneficial when working with couples in distress and how to weave these concepts into a practical application. She will also present a case study using the Marathon Couples Therapy method, an intensive and focused therapeutic modality offering 15 – 22 hours of therapy over two and a half days.
All events are hosted at our Bellingham Campus at 143 W. Kellogg Road.
